Further definition of project already used in the Integrative exercise in the I.VI Submodule.
So the project mainly would be based on creating a whole new itinerary for tourists that want to embrace the culture of the place, with the help of digital platforms such as websites or apps. These technological devices would help tourists to comment and post photos of their experience, creating a connection with the next visitor. This way its a mutual relationship between those who are interested and mutual help and advice aswell. Then, the local people would organize small groups (only between 5 to 7 people) and take the tourists to a more intimate tour within the hidden places to eat or to simply visit. Locals are the best people to know the place, so it’s the best, genuine and truth help they can ever get. When downtown they would do all the tour on foot, so the experience is more unique and the locals would tell different stories about many details they see on the way (example: painted doors in Downtown Funchal; why is it like that, due to what).
Next, the idea of glamping would be to emphasize the beauty of nature, while you sleep within the trees and little rivers of the mountains. We all know that, In Madeira, the watercourses levadas are a very big attraction to tourists, but the tour itself is very limited. The advantage of glamping would give the chance to tourists to enjoy the intimate relation with nature a bit more during the day and night, and not just for some hours. Glamping, as a new trend among the most adventurous tourists, provides a kind of luxury camping with all the need conditions to spend a night safely in the mountains. So here we would be combining two great things; this new concept of glamping and the authenticity of living the most pure and genuine nature experience. We could aswell call it a premium product.
Last, another idea of the project would be to take the tourists to meet the ancient and most typical practices of the place. For example, they could go visit the sugar cane honey factory and learn how the techniques of making that honey developed during the years. This would be a very interesting visit because it would enrich their knowledge and would not let a tradition fall into oblivion.
